Senior Accountant

Overview

At Hamilton Roofing, the Senior Accountant is a key member of the team, reporting to the COO and executing a hands-on role in managing the accounting functions of the business including management of accounts payable, accounts receivables, billing, and the month-end close process.

• Perform monthly close process working with the RCA corporate team
• Process vendor invoices and ensure timely payments
• Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies
• Manage customer invoicing and collections
• Monitor accounts for payment issues and follow up as necessary
• Prepare and issue accurate and timely customer invoices
• Coordinate with project managers to ensure billing aligns with job costs
• Address and resolve any billing inquiries or disputes
• Analyze project costs and profitability
• Track and report job costs against budgets
• Support the implementation of control systems within the organization
• Prepare quarterly payroll taxes
• Assist with audits
• Assist with the development and evaluation of budgets Tracking
• Track, prepare, submit, and collect lien releases
• Compile all government forms required for submission with invoicing
• Other tasks as assigned

• Degree in accounting, finance, or in a related field or equivalent relevant experience
• Previous experience as an accountant, assistant controller, or in a similar role
• Strong computer skills and knowledge of accounting software programs
• Highly organized and detail-oriented
• Knowledge / familiarity with Percentage of Completion Accounting a plus
