Litigation Associate

Overview

Schenck, Price, Smith & Kin, LLP is seeking an associate for our Litigation Department with 5 - 7 years’ experience in professional liability or complex commercial cases.

• Manage a diverse caseload of professional liability and complex commercial litigation matters from inception through resolution
• Draft and argue dispositive and non-dispositive motions
• Conduct and defend depositions, including expert depositions
• Prepare pleadings, discovery, and trial materials
• Participate in mediations, arbitrations, and court appearances
• Collaborate closely with partners and clients to develop litigation strategy
• Provide clear, timely client communication and case analysis

• 5–7 years of relevant litigation experience, with demonstrated exposure to professional liability and/or complex commercial matters
• Excellent legal writing and oral advocacy skills
• Significant experience in all aspects of trial advocacy (including depositions, motions, and orders to show cause)
• Strong analytical, organizational, and case-management abilities
• Ability to work independently while contributing effectively in a team environment
• Must be admitted to practice and in good standing with the New Jersey Bar

• First-chair deposition or courtroom experience
• Experience handling matters in state and federal court
• Familiarity with e-discovery platforms
• Portable business or business development interest is a plus

The annualized salary range for this position is $130,000 - $170,000. Actual pay will be adjusted based upon experience and other job-related factors permitted by law.
