Schenck, Price, Smith & King, LLP is seeking highly organized and proactive person with a minimum of 3-5 years’ experience to support attorneys in our Medical Malpractice Department in its Florham Park Office.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Provide administrative and legal support to medical malpractice attorneys through all phases of litigation
  • Draft, format, proofread, and file legal documents including pleadings, motions, discovery requests/responses, subpoenas, and correspondence
  • Manage and organize large volumes of medical records, including requests, indexing, summarizing, and tracking receipts
  • Coordinate medical authorizations, expert records, and expert witness materials
  • Assist with preparation for depositions, mediations, arbitrations, and trials, including exhibit preparation and scheduling
  • Maintain attorney calendars, track deadlines, and ensure compliance with court rules and filing requirements
  • File documents electronically in state and federal courts (e-filing systems)
  • Communicate professionally with clients, courts, opposing counsel, medical providers, and experts
  • Open, maintain, and close client files in accordance with firm procedures
  • Assist with billing entries, timekeeping, and expense tracking as required
  • Perform other administrative and litigation-related tasks as assigned

The successful candidate must possess excellent communication, organizational, and writing skills, as well as the ability to multi-task and consistently meet deadlines. The candidate must maintain a high level of professionalism, discretion, and attention to detail. The candidate must be able to work independently and as an integral member of the practice group.

Job related experience is required; paralegal certificate a plus. Knowledge of civil litigation procedures and court rules and experience handling medical records and confidential information is required.

The annualized salary range for this position is $65,000 - $85,000. Actual pay will be adjusted based upon experience and other job-related factors permitted by law.
