Behavioral Health Clinician - LSW - Part Time​/Morristown Medical Cent

Job Description

Conducts behavioral health evaluations to determine most appropriate treatment for adult patients starting at age 18 years, who have graduated high school and older.

• Conduct initial biopsychosocial assessments for patients seeking acute behavioral health services to determine need for treatment of behavioral issues.
• Provide individual and group counseling for patients.
• Complete and analyze evidenced-based screening tools and assessments.
• Along with patient, develop treatment plans, including clear problem statement, treatment goal(s), with measurable, relevant objectives for a range of behavioral health concerns.
• Manage caseload comprised of moderate to high acuity patients.
• Able to conduct multiple psycho-educational, therapeutic and skills groups and individual therapy services.
• Collaborate with other mental health and educational professionals to coordinate care.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient documentation records.
• Work within a multi-disciplinary team to evaluate patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
• Participate in ongoing professional development activities to stay current on best practices in the field of behavioral health.
• Complete all mandatory AHS trainings and competencies as assigned.

• Master’s degree in Social work, Psychology or Counseling
• LSW Required. LCSW or LPC license highly preferred.
• Previous higher level of care clinical/counseling experience with adult population
• Bilingual a plus

• Demonstrates ability to conduct biopsychosocial assessments, screens effectively for suicide and violence risk as well as abuse and neglect.
• Training and experience in Didactic Behavioral and/or Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy preferred.
• Ability to multi-task, organize and prioritize workload required.
• Ability to work within a team as well as independently to make complex decisions with high degree of accuracy.
• Develops individualized treatment plans with measurable, patient-centered goals, utilizes evidence-based therapeutic approaches appropriate to the presenting problem(s).
• Can build rapport and trust quickly with a range of patients, uses active listening skills, reflective statements and nonjudgemental language, conveys understanding and acceptance without reinforcing maladaptive behaviors.
• Maintains clear, timely and accurate clinical notes that meet legal and departmental standards, manages caseload effectively.
• Upholds professional ethical standards, maintains appropriate boundaries and therapeutic relationships.
