Notice of Job Opportunity Responsibilities
Direct all financial, operations, and quality assurance activities for the industrial production of industrial cables, connectors, glands, custom cable assemblies, by establishing goals and targets; measuring productivity; resolving issues that adversely impact customer satisfaction and quality; and improving processes to maximize productivity and minimize costs. Achieve profit and operational targets. Implement and maintain a business plan designed to deliver necessary profit and growth, quality of product and services.
Establish goals and standards of performance for direct reports. Mentor direct reports on the day-to-day management principles employing LOS (Lapp Operating System) principles. Analyze monthly P&L to continuously align initiatives. Ensure effective and efficient implementation and maintenance of the Quality System. Set cost parameters based on overhead, materials, and labor content. Identify specific issues and challenges related to capacity optimization, take ownership for successful implementation of capacity enhancements to maximize productivity and minimize costs.
Oversee the development of new products while invoking standards for consistent designs that meet manufacturing capabilities. Implement required policies and procedures to ensure compliance with applicable ISO standards / Corporate Directives. Confer with legal counsel regarding all fields of law as required to initiate and preserve appropriate legal business decisions and actions associated with proper governance of LCW interests. Develop Environment Aspects and Impacts in accordance to ISO 14001‑2015.
- Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Engineering Management, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related field and 2 years of experience in the position offered or related.
- Must have 2 years of experience with: strategic planning and decision-making in the wire & cable industry, including experience with Hoshin Kanri strategic tool deployment, SWOT analysis (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, Threats), Decision matrix analysis, and Cost Benefit matrix analysis tools; manufacturing processes and operations management, including continuous improvement methodologies, specifically, in-depth knowledge of cable manufacturing processes, including extrusion, cabling and braiding techniques;
industry standards and regulations related to cable manufacturing, including ISO, UL, RoHS; managing large‑scale projects, including cost saving initiatives and facility expansion, with the application of Lean principles and tools, including Value Stream Mapping, 5S, Kaizen, Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), Poka‑Yoke, Kanban and Just‑in‑Time (JIT) production, to identify waste and improve processes; and leading and mentoring Six Sigma projects using DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control) methodology. - Qualified applicants must possess Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt certification.
- M‑F, 40 hrs/wk. Salary: $157,000 - $175,000/year.
