Senior Accountant - SAP

Duration: 4-Month Contract (with potential for extension)

We are partnering with a well-established organization in Florham Park, NJ seeking a detail-oriented and hands-on Accounting Professional for a 4-month contract engagement. This role will support core accounting operations with a strong emphasis on state tax audit support, reconciliations, and process improvement initiatives.

SAP experience is an absolute requirement for this position.

• Provide support for state tax audits
  , including preparation and reconciliation of documentation related to sales tax, corporate tax, and property tax
• Perform and review month-end close activities
  , including:
• Balance sheet reconciliations
• Bank reconciliations
• General ledger analysis and cleanup
• Assist with standardizing reconciliation processes and driving process improvements to increase accuracy and efficiency
• Develop and document Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to strengthen internal controls and ensure consistency
• Support Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions as needed
• Respond to ad-hoc accounting and finance requests, partnering cross-functionally where necessary

• Required: Hands-on SAP experience (recent and functional knowledge required)
• 3+ years of accounting experience in a corporate environment
• Strong understanding of general ledger accounting and month-end close
• Experience supporting tax audits and multi-state tax reconciliations preferred
• Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, data analysis)
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently in a deadline-driven environment
