Ambulance Driver

SUMMARY DESCRIPTION

Responsible for operation of wheelchair and alternative transport units as defined by Medshore Ambulance Service Driving Policy.

• Inspects vehicle at beginning and end of shift according to established procedures.
• Completes appropriate vehicle checklist.
• Reports and relays needed repairs to supervisor.
• Responsible for safe transport of patients and riders.
• Full knowledge of vehicle equipment and proper use at all times.
• Upon arrival at destination, cleans, restocks equipment, supplies, and places vehicle back in service.
• Does not use professional knowledge and skills in any enterprise detrimental to the Company or the public well being.
• Respects and holds in confidence all information of a confidential nature obtained in the course of professional work unless required by law to divulge such information.
• Upholds company standards.
• Adheres to standards of personal ethics, on and off duty, reflecting credit upon the profession.
• Protects the public by not delegating to persons less qualified any service that requires professional competence of a Medical Transport Technician.
• Refuses to participate in unethical procedures and assumes responsibility to expose incompetent or unethical conduct of others to appropriate authority in proper and professional manner.
• Performs other duties as required by a supervisor.

• Valid Driver's License.
• 18 years of age or older.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Lifting capability 125 lbs or more.
