Pet Smart’s Professional Bather (dog bather) is responsible for engaging with pet parents and their pets while providing positive experiences, salon specific services and upholding the company’s vision, mission, values, and strategy. This role also shares responsibility for store cleanliness, recommending solutions for pet parents, and pet safety standards.

• Successful completion of Pet Smart’s Splash training and safety certification program.
• Responsible for the pet parent experience and outcomes conducted in person, over the phone and at the sales register.
• Greet pet parents, answer questions and assist with making reservations in the salon.
• Responsible for check-in and check-out procedures.
• Independently performs full menu of bath and brush services and standalone services (e.g., nail trims, teeth brushing, sanitary services) in accordance with Pet Smart’s bathing standards and procedures.
• Share additional health and wellness solutions with pet parents based on the pet’s needs.
• Ensure a safe environment for associates, pets, and pet parents.
• Take immediate action when a sick/injured pet is identified; transport to the vet as needed.
• Recommend, inform, and sell merchandise and services.
• Maintain total store cleanliness standards.
• Assist in other departments as required; other duties may be assigned.
• Participate in a culture of Belonging and Recognition.
• Follow all Company Policies and Procedures.

• Proficiency in computer applications.
• Ability to react under pressure and maintain composure.
• Flexibility in schedule; able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail and safety measures.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Stand, walk, climb a ladder, and use hands to handle, feel, hold, write, etc. May need to reach with hands and arms; may stoop, kneel, crouch, talk and hear. Specific vision abilities required. Reasonable accommodations may be made for disabilities.
• Lift and/or move up to 50 pounds; may occasionally lift more than 100 pounds with assistance.
• Occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts, wet environment, pet hair; moderate to high noise levels; exposure to live animals.
