Job Description

American Traveler seeks an experienced OR RN with at least 5 years of acute care operating room experience, SC or Compact RN license, and BLS certification for a Level 3 trauma center assignment.

Responsibilities

• Position is in the operating room of an acute care hospital with 12 ORs

• Day shift, 4x10-hour schedule from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm

• Call required: two star call shifts until 11 pm weekly and every 3rd to 4th weekend

• No floating between service lines or to sister facilities

• Patient population includes general, neuro, ortho, ENT, and GYN surgical cases

• Epic charting system is used

• Work in a Level 3 trauma center environment

• Scrubs are provided by the facility

• Parking is free on site

• All required onboarding modules must be completed prior to start

• RTO requests must be submitted up front; more than 7 days or holiday time off may delay approval

• Previous permanent staff (including PRN) must be separated from the health system for at least one year before being eligible

• Assignment may require joining emergency response teams during hurricane season (June–November)

• Block scheduling may be possible with manager approval

• Holiday coverage may be required

Requirements

• Active SC or Compact RN license required (must be issued and active before start)

• Minimum of 5 years' experience in the acute care operating room setting across a broad range of specialties

• Current BLS certification (AHA only)

• Radiation badge required and must be provided personally

• First-time travelers considered only with broad specialty competency

• Candidates must reside more than 60 miles from the facility

• SSN and valid driver's license required for consideration
