Job Description
The Mobility LPN reports to the Divisional Director of Clinical Excellence. Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, the Mobility LPN performs multi-skilled activities to support patient mobility, including, but not limited to, ambulation, transfers to/from chair, assisting patients in practicing exercises or functional activities, and total lifts to chair using lift equipment to achieve desired outcomes. The LPN will be responsible for updating the highest level of mobility performed each shift for assigned patients, as well as updating the mobility documentation, such as but not limited to AM-PAC scores.
Requirements (Education, Work Experience, Licensure, Registry &/or Certifications)
- Graduate of a Practical Nurse Program and successful completion of the LPN NCLEX with a minimum of one year of patient care work experience in a health care facility
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required

- Ability to work overtime as required. (Frequent)
- Ability to work in a latex safe environment. (Continuous)
- Ability to maintain tactile sensory functions. (Continuous)
- Selected positions may require: ability to maintain good olfactory sensory function; ability to be qualified physically for respirator use, initially and as required.
Additional Job Description
Graduate from an accredited Practical Nurse program with six months of patient care experience required. Licensed as an LPN within the state of South Carolina or a compact state. A current CPR card is required; either an American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers card or an American Red Cross Professional Rescuer card. Ability to demonstrate commitment to patient centered care philosophy as evidenced by effective communications skills, professional demeanor, and excellent interpersonal skills.
Ability and motivation to articulate and support departmental philosophy of excellent guest relations. Must communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. Must be computer literate. Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or American Red Cross BLS for Healthcare Providers certification is required.
