Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Operating Room RN with at least 5 years of acute care OR experience and a SC or compact RN license for a day shift position.

Responsibilities

• Work in a 12-OR hospital Operating Room serving a Level 3 trauma center

• Day shift position with 3x12 hour shifts from 7am to 7pm

• On-call required: one two-star call until 11pm per week and every 3rd or 4th weekend

• No floating to other service lines or sister facilities

• Block scheduling may be considered with managerial approval

• Patient charting is completed using Epic EMR

• Primary responsibilities include circulating and scrubbing for a broad range of OR cases

• First-time travelers considered if experienced across multiple specialties

• Scrubs are provided by the facility

• All planned time off must be disclosed before offer; requests after offer are not guaranteed approval

• Pre-employment modules are completed before starting and average 4 hours

• Expectations for participation in emergency response during hurricane season (June-November)

• Parking is provided at no cost

Requirements

• Active SC or compact RN license required; must be active prior to start

• Minimum 5 years of acute care operating room experience, experienced in general, neuro, ortho, ENT, and GYN cases

• Current American Heart Association BLS certification required

• Radiation badge required and must be provided by the traveler

• No local candidates within a 60-mile radius accepted

• Previous permanent or PRN staff must have a 1-year separation from facility to be eligible

• SSN and driver’s license required for consideration
