35.5 hours per week, Monday – Friday.

General Responsibilities
  • Plan and implement the strategic direction of all aspects of Auxiliary Services to ensure maximum efficiency and profitability. Responsible for overall daily operations of the bookstore, food service, vending, and student pay‑to‑print services, including vendor acquisition and negotiations, contract renewal, fiscal budgeting and reporting, establishing and directing new sources of revenue, and employee supervision. Work with marketing to promote all Auxiliary services.

    Develop and monitor operational budgets, ensuring cost‑effective use of resources.
  • Lead all phases of Auxiliary Enterprises’ textbook management, including procurement of new and used texts, monitoring technology trends, handling e‑books, e‑readers, and inclusive access codes, ensuring compliance with HEOA guidelines, managing the book buyback program, updating POS textbook system, conducting periodic inventory checks, and managing returns for credit.
  • Oversee daily bookstore operations: textbook and supply acquisition, floor stocking and setup, sales, and the development of text‑related programs such as e‑text transition and rental operations to increase revenue. Attend and promote professional development activities, implement continuous improvement initiatives, and communicate proactively with customers to meet their needs.
  • Assist in sales floor or behind‑the‑scenes activities to ensure efficient day‑to‑day Auxiliary Operations, including accounting (daily revenue reporting), maintenance and support of the POS system, and timely completion of campus services.
  • Maintain departmental procedures for course material availability, shipping and receiving records, and controls, ensuring best business practices across retail operations, copyright permissions, textbook adoption, accounts payable/receivable, merchandising, store and POS operations manuals, refunds, and store opening/closing.
  • Develop and direct the bookstore staff in a team‑centered environment to ensure course materials, merchandise, and customer services are provided for students, employees, and the general public.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Typical Qualifications
  • Minimum Requirements
    : A bachelor’s degree in business management, public administration, or a related administrative field.
  • Preferred Requirements
    :
    At least three (3) years of directly related sales experience in a retail environment, experience with Ellucian Colleague or similar financial management systems, inventory management, and point‑of‑sale software. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, strong customer‑service abilities, multitasking in a fast‑paced environment, and knowledge of inventory control, accounting, and bookkeeping procedures. Excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal skills, and experience managing employees at all levels, including recruiting, hiring, training, performance management, and discipline.

  • Anticipated Work Hours
    :
    Thirty‑seven and one‑half (37.5) hours per week, Monday – Friday.
  • Physical Requirements
    :
    Ability to perform manual labor and lift up to 50 lbs. Compliance with safety regulations and operational policies.
