Xpect is seeking a Systems Administrator to support a Federal Government Client in Columbia, SC. This position will support a 24/7 Service Center. A successful candidate will be willing to work nights, days, and/or weekends and holidays within the Service Center. This position is 100% onsite, not remote or hybrid; however, it is an excellent opportunity for someone looking for a growth opportunity within the IT field.
The candidate will be required to work from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday the first 8 to 12 weeks as training is completed and will then be assigned a shift. Security Clearance:
Due to the nature of this work and customer, this position will require either already possessing a government security clearance, or the ability to obtain one.
- Provide 24/7 remote, over-the-phone administration, support, and technical assistance to the IT Systems Manager Staff in many remote locations.
- Provide 24/7 managing and monitoring of critical IT infrastructure in a Network Operations Center environment.
We are looking for qualified individuals who are willing to work nights, days, and/or weekends/holidays on‑site within our Tech One Service Center in Columbia, SC. This position is not a remote or hybrid position; however it is a wonderful growth opportunity for someone who also craves working alongside some of our best and brightest network technology professionals.
SECURITY CLEARANCE:
Due to the nature of this customer, the position will require either already possessing a government security clearance or the ability to obtain one.
- Provide Tier 2 Network and Systems Administration.
- Support end users in a 24/7 facility including remote, over-the-phone administration, support, and technical assistance.
- Support the 24/7 management and monitoring of critical IT Infrastructure in a Network Operations Environment.
- Associate’s Degree in Computer Science or related IT field OR
- Microsoft Fundamentals or CompTIA certifications; OR
- 2 years IT Help Desk support experience in a Windows Active Directory environment; OR
- 2 years of experience in Windows Active Directory, network, IT operations, and IT hardware support.
- Solid working knowledge of networks, servers and desktop applications with the ability to multitask while monitoring and working through issues on both phone calls and emails.
- Ability and willingness to work 1st, 2nd, or 3rd shift, holidays, and weekends.
- Ability to work onsite 100%
- Ability to attain up to a Secret Clearance.
- Ability and knowledge to perform primary steady‑state administration, monitoring of enterprise management systems, maintaining systems, troubleshooting issues, correcting problems, installing system security patches, patch management, hardware and software upgrades, data storage, data retrieval, backup job creation, backup job modification, backup job verification, data replication, system optimizations, updating documentation, and providing research assistance for problem resolution involving configuration issues or other conflicts.
