Apply to join MUSC Health in the role of a Therapeutic Assistant II for adult inpatient services. The position reports to the Nurse Manager and provides patient care as directed by a multidisciplinary treatment program, supporting the unit’s daily operations and patient rehabilitation goals.
Job Description SummaryThe Therapeutic Assistant II is responsible for providing patient care as directed by nurses, including vital sign monitoring, meal documentation, electronic medical record updates, participating in group therapies, orienting new care team members, and assisting with unit improvement initiatives. Attendance at 75% of unit staff meetings is required.
Key Responsibilities- Provide patient care under limited supervision.
- Orient new care team members.
- Conduct and document group therapies.
- Obtain and document vital signs.
- Record meal percentages.
- Document care in the electronic medical record.
- Assist in unit project improvements.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Services or related field, or high school diploma plus 1 year of experience in behavioral health or related healthcare.
- Certification in Basic Life Support required within 2 weeks of hire.
- Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or American Red Cross BLS for Healthcare Providers required.
- Certification in de‑escalation training within orientation period, annually thereafter and biannually for BLS.
