Therapeutic Assistant II
The Therapeutic Assistant II reports to the Nurse Manager. Under limited supervision, the role is responsible for providing patient care as directed by a multi‑disciplinary treatment program, orienting new care team members, conducting and documenting group programming, obtaining and documenting vital signs, recording meal percentages, and documenting applicable patient care in the electronic medical record. The position also assists with orienting new care team members to the unit, provides assistance to new team members as needed, directs to unit leaders as appropriate, and supports unit project improvement initiatives.
All applicants are required to attend at least 75% of unit staff meetings.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Services or a related field, or a high school diploma with at least one year of experience in behavioral health or a related healthcare setting.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) required within two weeks of hire. Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or American Red Cross BLS for Healthcare Providers certification is required.
- Certification in de‑escalation training during orientation and annually thereafter, with bi‑annual refresher BLS.
