The Dean of Nursing and Allied Health is responsible for managing and administering the overall organization of multiple departments/programs within the Division of Nursing and Allied Health, including programs/courses in Nursing (RN, LPN), Medical Laboratory Technology, Medical Assisting, Phlebotomy Technology, Radiological Technology, Dental Assisting, Dental Hygiene, Respiratory Care, Surgical Technology, and Health Information Management.
- Coordinate assigned activities with department heads and program directors, support students, lead curriculum development and implementation to meet accreditation and community needs.
- Assist with implementation of the College's Strategic Plan, present recommendations and reports to the Vice President of Academic Affairs.
- Supervise staff: recruitment, hiring, training, supervision, evaluation.
- Develop and expand course and program offerings, acquire educational materials, and develop articulation agreements.
- Provide student and staff counsel, grievance resolution, and handle complaints.
- Participate in community activities, professional development, and accreditation processes; serve on committees.
Minimum Requirements
Master's degree in Nursing, plus six (6) years of progressively responsible related work experience.
Preferred Requirements- Doctorate degree (PhD, EdD, DNP, DNS) with at least 5 years teaching experience, preferably at a community college.
- Unencumbered active South Carolina RN license or willingness to obtain one upon hire.
- Experience in higher education administration as a program director, chair, or adjunct faculty.
- Demonstrated commitment to community college mission.
- Experience with curriculum development and re-design, programmatic accreditation requirements.
Monday – Thursday, 8:00 am – 5:30 pm;
Friday, 8:00 am – 11:30 am.
