Position Overview: Primary Vascular Care is seeking an experienced Sedation Nurse (RN) to join our team on a per diem basis assisting with vascular procedures in the operating room. The ideal candidate has experience administering and monitoring moderate sedation in a procedural environment and is comfortable working alongside physicians during image-guided vascular interventions.
This role offers flexible scheduling and the opportunity to work alongside a highly skilled vascular team.
Key Responsibilities- Administer and monitor moderate sedation for patients undergoing vascular procedures.
- Continuously assess patient vital signs, airway status, and level of consciousness during procedures.
- Prepare patients for procedures including IV placement, medication administration, and pre-procedural assessment.
- Maintain patient safety and comfort before, during, and after sedation.
- Document sedation medications, monitoring data, and patient responses in accordance with facility and regulatory guidelines.
- Ensure emergency equipment, medications, and monitoring devices are available and functioning prior to procedures.
- Assist the procedural team while maintaining sterile technique when appropriate.
- Collaborate with physicians, radiologic technologists, and surgical staff to ensure efficient procedural workflow.
- Monitor patients during recovery and ensure safe discharge from the procedural area.
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- BLS Certification required.
- ACLS Certification required.
- Minimum 2 years of clinical nursing experience in procedural, interventional, or critical care settings preferred.
- Experience administering or monitoring moderate sedation strongly preferred.
- Strong understanding of patient monitoring, airway management, and emergency response protocols.
- Ability to work independently in a procedural environment.
- Preferred Experience:
- Experience with vascular or interventional radiology procedures.
- Prior experience in OBL, ASC, cath lab, or hospital operating room settings.
- Familiarity with sedation documentation and procedural workflow.
