Adjuster Supervisor

Compensation Includes:
- Starting pay rate $25-35/hour
Assist Shift Supervisor with managing assigned shift, focusing on key areas of safety, quality, production, and communication. Provide real‑time floor oversight, ensure compliance with standards, gather data on performance and issues, and elevate to supervisors for strategic decisions in a high‑volume paper bag manufacturing environment. Split floor coverage with the other Lead to monitor machines, drive team development, and minimize losses due to articulable constraints.
Responsibilities- Serve as first line technical support for Machine Operators and Utility persons
- Assign employees to production lines and ensure all machines run on schedule and at production speed
- Monitor bags being run, ensuring hourly samples are taken to inspect quality and catch any defects and unnecessary waste
- Assist in machine changeovers/order changes and ensure they are completed in a timely manner
- Clean and repair machines as needed
- Ensure work area safety and that employees follow all safety procedures (PPE, guards, ZES, shirt tails, etc.)
- Submit accurate production reports daily and on time
- Ensure employees take breaks and schedule relief as needed
- Evaluate employees’ performance, administer counseling and/or disciplinary action, improvement plans, and flag recurring problems to Shift Supervisor or Department Manager
- Train new employees or assign them to others for training
- Keep workers supplied with necessary materials
- Ensure employees keep their work areas clean
- Refer employees to Human Resources for complaints, grievances, or other issues as they arise
- Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Food Safety Practices
- Other miscellaneous duties as assigned by management, including food safety
- 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
- 2–5 years Adjuster experience
- Effective listening, speaking & writing ability in person and on the phone
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and quality instructions, and procedural manuals
- Ability to complete routine reports and records
- Basic arithmetic skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide)
- Ability to write clearly and concisely, using good grammar and professional style
- Self‑management with organization and time‑management skills
- Must have good eyesight (no color blindness) to spot flaws in color comparison, print setup, etc. as bags or film come off the production line
