As the Network Operations Analyst, the individual will perform network monitoring, reporting, and facilitate recovery from degraded or failed services in support of the US Army Human Resources Command (HRC) Network Operations Center (NOC) and Service Monitoring Center (SMC). In this role, the Network Operation Analyst will provide technical support for incident response, service degradations, outages, and other service interruptions. In addition, the Network Operation Analyst will investigate and troubleshoot hardware and software problems related to monitoring tools.
Responsibilities:
- Plans, briefs, and executes efficient Authorized Service Interruptions (ASI) with minimized impact to daily operations
- Monitors and supports performance of critical infrastructure, to include network, storage, database, Mainframe, and other components and services. May include support during non-core hours
- Monitors and assesses speed and performance of IT services, websites, and end-user assets
- Manages service or infrastructure outages or degradations via ticket creation and coordinates with Help Desk, technical Subject Matter Experts, or support agencies for recovery
- Opens, manages, and closes service status flags for outage or server degradations. Maintain ongoing monitoring and communication of service flags through phone, email, and other means
- Investigates and document recovery and root cause of outages.
- Supports and maintains monitoring tools, researching, and testing improvements for recommendation and implementation
- Performs tool assessments to opportunities to improve performance or accuracy of notifications
- Creates and updates documentation needed to configure, operate, and recover monitoring tools and capabilities, Common Operating Procedures (COP), and other processes
- Performs other tasks as required by BME and the Government contracting office
Required Qualifications/Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid Security+ certification
- Strong knowledge of IT Service Monitoring best practices and standards.
- Ability to work within a team-oriented, collaborative environment, develop strong working relationships across organizations.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to support tasks and issues through to completion, strong follow-through and critical problem-solving skills.
- Hands-on experience with network monitoring tools such as Solar Winds
- Must have and maintain a Secret or Higher clearance
Preferred Qualifications/Education and Experience
- CCNA Certification preferred
