Job Summary

Plans, directs, supervises and evaluates the day‑to‑day activities of professional and support staff members involved in any variety of Human Resources specialty areas, which may include:
Recruitment and Selection, Classification and Compensation, Benefits, Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO)/Affirmative Action, Employee Relations, Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) accommodations, and other personnel related issues for designated departments; performs other work as required or assigned.

Typical Classification Essential Duties
  • Provides technical advice to staff regarding application of Human Resources policies, procedures and practices.
  • Plans, coordinates, directs and establishes work standards of diverse personnel activities.
  • Conducts presentations to management and to other employee groups to convey information about personnel programs or other matters.
  • Oversees the development and maintenance of required documentation, files (manual and automated) and related materials as required by federal, state, county and other laws, rules and regulations for area(s) of responsibility.
  • Exercises signature authority for the Director on delegated issues.
