Job SummaryPerform general custodial duties, cleaning, and maintenance of County buildings under close supervision.
Typical Classification Essential Duties- Perform a variety of custodial and manual labor tasks and perform basic cleaning, restroom sanitation, floor care, and trash disposal in County facilities.
- Gather and empty trash from waste receptacles, offices, and general areas.
- Sweep and mop floors, remove dirt and debris, and clean and dust rooms, equipment, fixtures, and furniture.
- Follow all safety rules and regulations, closely follow verbal and written instructions, and identify and report safety hazards, equipment problems, repair needs, security issues, and emergency situations.
- Respond as directed to perform emergency cleaning work.
- Maintain absolute confidentiality of work-related issues, customer records, and restricted County information.
- Perform other related duties as required.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Or an equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience may substitute for the minimum requirements.
- Arizona residents must have a valid Arizona Driver’s License upon hire; newly established Arizona Residents must have one within 30 days of hire.
- Knowledge of basic methods used to maintain facilities.
- Knowledge of basic safety precautions.
- Skill in safely using tools, equipment, and chemicals.
- Ability to follow and maintain safety standards.
The work is medium and requires exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. The work also requires the ability to crouch, feel, grasp, handle, reach, kneel, lift, pull, push, perform repetitive motion, stoop, stand, walk, hear, speak, and demonstrate mental and visual acuity.
