Registered Nurse (RN), Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) – Full time, 36 hours per week, weekender schedule with call required (3:00 pm Friday – 7:00 am Monday).

Department/Unit Summary

Surgical Services at North Alabama Medical Center consists of 15 surgical suites, 6 endoscopy rooms, 6 private pre‑admission testing rooms, and 30 same‑day surgery rooms. Our surgical team comprises specially trained surgeons, anesthesiologists, nurses, surgical technologists, certified nurse anesthetists, and other highly trained professionals. We strive to provide outstanding and compassionate care from pre‑op to discharge.

How you’ll contribute

You will make an impact by utilizing your specialized plan‑of‑care intervention and serving as a patient‑care innovator. You will shape exceptional patient journeys every day and leverage your skills and our cutting‑edge technology to directly impact patient wellbeing.

Qualifications and requirements
  • Current state RN license.
  • Associate’s Degree in Nursing required.
  • 1 to 2 years of ICU/ER/PACU experience preferred.
  • Active AL or Compact RN License.
  • ACLS and PALS certification within 90 days of hire.
What you will do

RN responsible for providing the immediate post‑op recovery care of the perioperative patient in the PACU using the nursing process. The nursing process is defined as the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care pertinent to the individual patient.
