Job Summary
: A Claims Associate is responsible for participating in the processing of insurance claims by performing the following administrative duties.

• Review insurance claims forms and related documents (e.g., medical records) for required information.
• Enter new claims setup information into the claims management system (Claims
  
  XPress) and maintain existing files.
• Print and prepare outgoing letters and forms on behalf of claims adjusters.
• Scan and sort incoming daily mail.
• Pay claim-related expenses when authorized.
• Handle incoming calls and make outgoing calls as specifically required.

• Bachelor’s degree in business, finance or related discipline, or associate’s degree, or an equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience.
• Previous experience in the insurance industry, policy administration or customer service preferred.
• Strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills; proficiency in using policy management software a plus.
• Understanding of insurance policies, regulations and industry standards a plus.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently.
• Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with clients and colleagues.
• Results-driven and customer-focused.

This is a full-time position. Standard business hours:
Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
