Behavioral Health Technician
Join to apply for the Behavioral Health Technician role at Insight Health Systems.
Base Pay Range$14.00/hr - $18.00/hr

- Support patient activities and ensure safety
- Maintain a BHT-to-patient ratio following provider orders
- Assist with daily living activities and monitor patient behavior
- Familiarity with crisis intervention techniques to deescalate conflicts in a manner that keeps staff and patients safe
- Concentration skills to understand complex written and verbal instructions and follow them completely
- Basic knowledge of anatomy, mental health conditions and common treatments
- Observational skills to pick up on changes in symptoms and behaviors
- Strong oral communication skills to interact effectively with staff and patients
- Thorough understanding of privacy laws and safety and infection control standards
- Ability to lift and steady patients who may have difficulty getting up or walking on their own
- Computer skills to enter information into health information software systems
- Other duties as assigned
- Ability to provide authorization to work in the U.S. for any employer
- Must be 18 years of age or older due to state requirements
- GED or high school diploma preferred; experience can waive this requirement.
- Valid driver's license preferred
- Experience in a behavioral health hospital setting preferred
- Employee must be in good standing to be considered for internal transfer.
- Compassionate, caring, and service-oriented are characteristics desired for this position.
- Must be able to assist patients in day-to-day tasks
