Dialysis Clinical Technician – Taylor Dialysis – 40 Hours/Week

Department DescriptionTaylor Dialysis is a freestanding outpatient dialysis facility. The facility oversees peritoneal and home dialysis patients. Census is 120 incenter patients. Staffed with full-time Nephrologists. In addition, the unit has multiple support staff members including the front desk team and tech leader staff (machine maintenance) that may assist with operational duties within the clinic. Our team provides pt education as well as referrals to transplant services for sites the pt requests to be referred to.
The unit is typically open Monday through Saturday 5am to 630pm for pt care hours with some flexibility based on the clinic's needs.
- Perform dialysis treatments according to prescribed protocols and physician orders.
- Monitor patients during dialysis treatment, assessing vital signs and responding to any changes in condition.
- Set up and operate dialysis machines, including performing routine maintenance and troubleshooting issues as needed.
- Administer medications and intravenous fluids as prescribed by the physician.
- Educate patients and their families about dialysis procedures, dietary restrictions, and self-care techniques.
- Maintain accurate and complete medical records, including documenting treatment activities and patient progress.
- Ensure adherence to infection control protocols and safety standards in the dialysis unit.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuing education to enhance skills and knowledge.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Completion of a dialysis technician training program preferred.
- Certification as a Clinical Hemodialysis Technician (CCHT) required within 18-months of employment.
