Cosmetology Instructor

Position: FULL-TIME COSMETOLOGY INSTRUCTOR:
Creative Hair School of Cosmetology is in need of a full-time licensed cosmetology instructor. You must have a current State of Michigan Cosmetology Instructor License to apply.

Seeking a passionate licensed cosmetology instructor to teach our growing student body. This is a full-time position that includes but is not limited to teaching, mentoring, motivating, and coaching all students in the classroom and on the student salon floor.

In this role, the instructor will use the institution's approved curriculum to teach theory and practical training that prepares students to pass the State Board exam.

Ensure compliance with State Board laws and administrative duties such as accurately recording student grades, hours, and upkeep of students' academic files.

This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about the beauty industry, enjoys teaching, and has an affinity for coaching and mentoring. This position requires competency in computer use as well as data entry into the school's student computer management software.

The position also requires instructors to have the physical ability and stamina to constantly move throughout the student salon in order to supervise students and engage with clients during service hours.

Job Duties:

* Follow School policies and procedures

* Ensure students follow school policies and procedures

* Attend staff meetings and school trainings

* Prepare review and implement lesson plans

* Teach classroom theory

* Demonstrate hairstyles to students

* Long periods of standing

* Oversee student salon

* Evaluate student progress

* Assist front desk support staff

* Manage student productivity

* Ensure sanitation protocol

* Grade student practical and theory exams

* Insert student test grades into computer software

Skills

* Effective listening, and communication skills

* Ability to establish rapport and connect with students

* Ability to relate to people from various backgrounds

* Proficient in hair cutting and hair coloring

* Understanding of the various learning styles

* Ability to use various teaching methods to diversity educational material.

* Computer, software, and technically savvy

* Pays close attention to detail

Schedule:

* Full
-Time

* Tuesday through Friday 9:00 am to 4:00 pm

* Saturday 9:00 am to 4:00 pm
