Building Substitute Teacher PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

It is the purpose of this position to meet the general educational needs of students in grades K-8 when the assigned teacher is unavailable to provide instruction. When not assigned to a teaching position, duties would include, but not be limited to, paraprofessional and positive behavior support for students.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Education al Requirements

60 hours from a regionally accredited college or university
Teaching certification OR Michigan Substitute Teacher Permit

Minimum General Requirements

Implement effective classroom management skills.

Ability to organize and administer class lesson plans.

Exemplify professionalism to students and staff.

Establish effective relationships with students, staff, and the community.

Ability to handle confidential information appropriately.

Knowledgeable of the growth and maturation patterns of the elementary and middle school student.

Ability to speak and write effectively.

Clearance of a criminal records check as required by the Board of Directors’ policy.
