Purpose, Scope & Dimension Of Job

To assist with the development, implementation, and reporting of Perkins CTE programs at the college, administer local Perkins grant funds, including acquisition of instructional equipment, support for advisory committee meetings, and processing of professional development requests.

Position Summary

Under the direction of the Assistant Vice President of CTWE, this position supports project leaders and coordinators of approved internal Perkins‑funded projects, provides liaison and training functions, communicates with internal and state stakeholders to ensure compliance with Perkins requirements, and maintains relevant state databases.

Responsibilities
  • Supporting project leaders and coordinators of approved internal Perkins‑funded projects.
  • Providing extensive knowledge of the college’s CTE programs and external services within the college service district.
  • Acting as a liaison to other staff, collaborating with relevant parties, and delivering faculty/staff training.
  • Communicating directly with internal stakeholders (Assistant Vice President of CTWE, CTE and WED deans, program coordinators, faculty) and external stakeholders at the state level.
  • Interfacing with State of Michigan databases to update required data.
  • Working as a team leader for student employees or temporary support staff as needed.
Supervisory Responsibility

This position coordinates the daily operation of the department of Career & Technical Education and may serve as a team leader for student employees or temporary support staff.

Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field or equivalent education and experience.
  • Integrity and sound judgment in handling confidential information.
  • Demonstrated ability to efficiently organize and manage large amounts of complex information.
  • Detail oriented, well organized, and accurate.
  • Strong customer‑oriented service history, problem‑solving approach, listening skills, coordinated work efforts, and follow‑through.

Physical Requirements /Working Conditions
  • Frequently operates a computer and other office productivity machinery.
  • Must be able to remain stationary approximately one‑third of the time and occasionally move within the office to access file cabinets and machinery.
  • Requires repetitive motion (typing, keyboarding, answering phones).
  • Requires extended periods of time working at LCD computer monitors.
Work Schedule

Full‑time, 40‑hour per week. Working hours may occasionally include evenings and weekends as determined by workload. Flexible start or end times can be determined to minimize overtime when within 40 hours; if more than 40 hours, compensation time off or overtime earnings will be paid in accordance with the Pro Tech contract.
