Basic accounting principles and practices; applying applicable federal, state and/or local laws, rules and regulations; ability to perform mathematical calculations; tabulating, recording and balancing transactions; operating standard office equipment; researching account discrepancies; oral and written communication skills sufficient to exchange or convey information and receive work direction.

Job DutiesProcess and account for all donations and pledges to the University, including cashier sessions, general ledger feeds, balancing daily and monthly between Advancement and Business Office systems, maintain proper gift backup documentation, maintain gift accounting database, gift reporting, prepare journal vouchers, research/analyze/problem resolution of accounting issues related to gift/pledge entry.
Prepare Donor tax receipts and gift acknowledgment letters in compliance with IRS gift accounting regulations. Enter contact reports for correspondence.
Manage and coordinate the payroll deduction gift process with UA and Payroll departments; maintain Gift Accounting Manual and updates as needed; assist Business Office audits; assist and back up Advancement Data Operations and Strategy Manager, and perform other duties as assigned.
