Job Summary:

The job involves assisting the Pharmacist in delivering a great customer experience by accurately providing medication and healthcare products with high-level customer care.

• Must be at least 18 years old with appropriate state licensing or certifications.
• Proficiency in English for reading, writing, speaking, analyzing, and interpreting.
• Ability to perform mathematical functions, including basic arithmetic.
• Physical ability to stand/walk throughout shifts, and regularly lift 25 lbs., occasionally 50 lbs.
• Finger/hand dexterity for filling prescriptions, and ability to distinguish colors, shapes, sizes.
• Tolerance to varying temperatures, dust, and chemical agents during cleaning.
• Friendly and helpful interaction with customers.
• Cooperative teamwork capability.
• Compliance with work schedules, attendance policies, and confidentiality of information.
• Proficient use of required computer hardware and software.
• Adherence to company policies and procedures.

• Provide prompt, courteous service and assistance to customers.
• Accurately collect payments and provide change.
• Input patient information for prescription processing.
• Assist the Pharmacist in prescription processing, counting, and labeling.
• Organize and stock pharmaceuticals as directed.
• Help customers locate over-the-counter products.
• Maintain security of the Pharmacy Department.
• Interact with physicians and reference materials to resolve customer and prescription issues.
• Maintain a clean, neat, organized, and safe environment, complying with sanitation standards.
• Regularly lift, pull, push, and rotate merchandise.
• Stand at the workstation for the duration of shifts, which may exceed 8 hours.
• Be knowledgeable about product locations and prices, and promote charitable sales.
• Understand and adhere to company shrink guidelines.
• Comply with State and Federal drug laws, HIPAA, DEA, and FDA regulations.
• Exhibit professionalism and confidentiality with patient health information.
• Follow HAZCOM program for safe use of chemicals.
• Perform duties in compliance with regulations and company policies.
• Utilize and maintain department equipment, reporting issues immediately.
• Complete department training programs.
• Adhere to Shop Rite Service Priorities (Safety, Friendliness, Presentation, and Efficiency).
• Maintain punctual attendance, work overtime as assigned, and cooperate with others.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
