We are recruiting a Lead Driver to join our Training Team at the West Auckland Depot. This role is ideal for an experienced Class 1 Driver who wishes to advance their career while working with the Training and Recruitment teams to onboard and train new drivers.

• Class 1 Day Driving delivering reels & cardboard to customers.
• Assist with driving assessments, interviews and induction of new drivers onsite (including Pudsey).

• Demonstrate and train new and existing drivers and shunters in the safe loading of trailers.
• Use of coupling, driving and tachograph regulations, shunting of trailers.
• Achieve Isotrak scores of 100 and under.
• Coach and mentor on road‑efficient driving.

• Maintain effective relationships with Drivers, Lead Drivers and the Training Team.
• Be available for on‑call advice regarding work‑related issues.
• Drive LGV (C+E) across the UK when not in the office or carrying out training.
• Conduct general office duties within the Jack Richards office team.
• Perform trailer checks, complete job call‑ins, name resourcing, create/update/delete jobs, debrief infractions, and train out Toolbox Talks.

• Full LGV (C+E) licence held for a minimum of three years.
• Valid Driver Qualification Card (DCPC).
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong IT skills.
• Strong work ethic.
• Background in general haulage, especially with paper reels, cardboard and timber (desirable).
• In‑depth knowledge of WTD and EU driver hour rules and regulations.
• Flexibility and adaptability to a varied role.

• c. £38,800 + SAFED Plus Fuel Bonus (max c. £1,000 p.a.)
