Are you passionate about ensuring compliance and operational excellence in fleet management? Fylde Council is seeking a Senior Fleet Compliance Officer to lead and oversee the compliance of our vehicle fleet and drivers, ensuring we meet all statutory and operational requirements under our Operator’s Licence.
In this role, you will:
Play a key role in the day-to-day running of fleet management services, working closely with the Head of Waste and Fleet Services and Fleet & Workshop Manager. Your responsibilities will include:
- Ensuring compliance with all legal and safety standards.
- Leading audits on fleet compliance, occupational road risk, and Health & Safety.
- Managing and coordinating the Fleet Resources Officer and supporting mechanics where required.
- Developing and implementing fleet policies, driver handbooks, and training programmes.
- Monitoring budgets, compiling performance reports, and liaising with external enforcement bodies.
- Overseeing vehicle maintenance schedules, MOT bookings, and ensuring timely inspections.
- At least 2 years’ experience in a transport office environment
. - Strong knowledge of fleet management systems, health and safety, and compliance legislation.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills.
- Leadership qualities with the ability to motivate and manage a team.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.
- Up to 29 days annual leave, plus bank holidays (24 days on appointment, increasing with service)
