Traincare Point Fleet Support Team Member –

Glasgow, Scotland
Salary + Benefits: £39,402.68 + 18.5% shift allowance
Responsibilities
- Work as part of a team to service, maintain, repair and overhaul rolling stock, locomotives, plant and equipment including the latest generation of train technology.
- Ensure the fleet is serviced, maintained and repaired in a safe and cost‑effective manner while continually seeking to improve quality.
- Carry out line‑of‑route support to maintain the highest level of service delivery.
- Work in coordination with the TCP Regional Co‑ordinator/TcC PM or SPM, observing shift notices and briefs.
- Comply with all Traincare Point / Traincare Centre protection procedures and safety notices, rules and regulations.
- Use IT systems relating to safety, quality, reporting and training.
- Fault finding and repair, including in‑service repairs, defect investigations and reporting, and carrying out train system downloads as required.
- Attend train incidents, recommend actions to Fleet Control Engineer, and ride trains to provide feedback to engineering and reliability teams.
- Support loco hauling operations and carry out examinations and checks as required.
- Relocate to support service during engineering work or service disruption.
Qualifications
- Time served apprenticeship or equivalent with associated technical qualifications (ONC/HNC/City & Guilds) or recognised equivalent.
- Dual‑skilled (mechanical and electrical) with an electrical bias.
- Experience of working to procedures, work instructions and vehicle maintenance.
- Knowledge and practical experience of train maintenance.
- Experience of mentoring and instructing other team members.
