General Labor, Building Maintenance
Nature of Work
Under general supervision performs a variety of semi-skilled manual labor in the maintenance of County parks and open space; carries out park cleaning and other duties as assigned.
The ideal candidate is able to work weekends and holidays; has experience working with customer service; experience with hand and power tools; experience with janitorial and cleaning procedures of the position.
Please note: The hourly rate for this position is $18.35 per hour. This position requires evening, weekend, and holiday work. Schedule may vary from week to week. This is a temporary position to fulfill the summer season of April 13 – September 30, 2026.
Typical DutiesPerforms the maintenance of public buildings, grounds and equipment. May act as helper for a craftsman or skilled trades worker such as a carpenter, plumber, electrician, painter or mason; participates in special event support; other duties as assigned.
Essential functions of this position include: driving; lifting and carrying up to fifty (50) pounds when loading and unloading trucks; team lifting up to 100 pounds; working with and around other staff and the public. This position works outside most of the time.
Minimum QualificationsAny combination of education, training and experience which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position. Must possess and maintain a valid Arizona driver's license. Final job offer will be contingent upon a satisfactory 5-year motor vehicle report.
Preferred QualificationsPrevious work experience with a Parks department; two years of general maintenance experience; two years of customer service work experience.
This position is non-exempt from overtime.
Knowledge,Skills And Abilities
Experience with minor repair maintenance; and park and recreation experience or background with events.
