Responsibilities
  • Oversee a group of Territory Managers (TMs) in selling the Company’s products and services, influencing customers and assisting them in applying the products and services to their needs to generate revenue.
  • Direct TMs against opportunities in closing, penetrating existing accounts, and new account acquisition within a specified district.
  • Provide coaching, mentoring, and training to TMs to achieve profitable sales and case growth objectives.
  • Lead a group of TMs to achieve Division sales, penetration and churn reduction objectives; develop and maintain long and short‑range sales plans.
  • Coaching and developing TMs in creating effective action planning to achieve AOP and Company goals.
  • Direct TMs toward high quality leads, assist in warming leads and closing, and work with TMs to open new accounts and reduce churn.
  • Submit and administer annual street sales operating plan and operating budget, reviewing and approving street sales‑related expenses, credits, donations, and contracts, and tracking performance against plan.
  • Leverage Sales Coordinator role to reduce time on administrative tasks and resolve TM and customer issues.
  • Assist in coordinating product cuttings and demonstrations, develop sales and marketing strategies and proposals for customers on products and services.
  • Conduct market research to determine customer needs and provide information to sales staff.
  • Communicate sales data to contribute to product/service planning and assist in planning district sales meetings and events with Marketing and Merchandising personnel.
  • Utilize Sales Foundations tools and processes to grow sales, generate additional revenue, and maintain customer service standard.
  • Recruit, train and mentor new hires and existing TMs, conduct field support sessions and evaluate training needs.
  • Oversee, manage and assess TM performance, instituting performance improvement or disciplinary measures as needed.
  • Maintain current knowledge of industry trends and product developments that affect target markets.
  • Research and develop lists of potential customers, make targeted sales calls, and conduct periodic Customer Business Reviews.
  • Assist in customer/delivery alignment and driver engagement.
  • Oversee the communication and execution of Company policies within the sales department.
  • Ensure the sales organization is appropriately staffed and managed to minimize turnover.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned or required.
Qualifications
  • Must reside in/between Ft. Wayne and South Bend areas.
  • Experience as a sales leader (people leader) with a proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales goals.
Education and Training

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Sales & Marketing or related field or equivalent experience required.

Related Experience

A minimum of five years of food service sales experience required. A minimum of two years of supervisory experience required. Overnight travel may be required.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Demonstrated problem solving and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, customer service and presentation abilities.
  • Proficient computer skills, preferably in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Licenses
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Candidates who have received a DUI conviction for drug or alcohol within the last three years will not be considered as eligible.
  • Other license history is reviewed and must meet company standards.
Compensation and Benefits

This role will also receive a quarterly performance bonus, driven by case growth and profitability.

Compensation depends on relevant experience and/or education, specific skills, function, geographic location, and other factors as applicable by law. The expected base rate for this role is between $75,000 and $125,000.
