The Role

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager with engineering expertise to lead complex industrial projects. This is a high-impact, client-facing leadership role, where you will own project delivery from concept to implementation, ensure technical quality, and guide a team of engineers.

You will work on sustainability and decarbonisation projects, applying your knowledge of utilities and industrial systems to deliver solutions on time and on budget. This role involves mentoring engineers, coordinating multi-disciplinary teams, and ensuring all work meets regulatory and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead end-to-end delivery of engineering projects for industrial clients, from feasibility and concept design to detailed design and implementation.
  • Act as a client-facing technical and project delivery expert, building strong relationships and trust.
  • Oversee and approve engineering outputs, ensuring compliance with industry standards and internal quality processes.
  • Coordinate, manage, and mentor engineers, supporting their professional development.
  • Apply expertise in utilities and industrial systems, including heat recovery, heat pumps, chillers, HVAC, boilers, steam systems, refrigeration, compressed air, and water treatment.
  • Conduct process design, review flow sheets, PFDs, P&IDs, and implement changes to utility systems.
  • Identify opportunities to add value to projects through innovative solutions and sustainability improvements.
  • Drive continuous improvement in project delivery and internal processes.
  • Ensure high standards of project management, operating excellence, and client satisfaction.
Experience & Skills
  • Degree or higher in Mechanical, Process, or Chemical Engineering (MEng preferred).
  • Significant project management experience in engineering delivery for industrial/manufacturing clients.
  • Strong technical expertise in utilities, process systems, and sustainability solutions.
  • Proven ability to sign off engineering deliverables and take technical ownership.
  • Experience mentoring and managing engineers or multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Strong IT and software skills, including MS Office, Project, Teams, SharePoint, Visio, and data analysis tools.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and client relationship skills.
  • Experience in delivering projects with energy efficiency, decarbonisation, or sustainability focus is highly desirable.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Professional Engineer accreditation preferred but not essential.
  • Project Management qualification (PMP or equivalent) desirable.
  • Eligibility to work in the USA and willingness to travel to client sites.
  • Current driver's license and access to own transport.
  • Demonstrated starter-completer mindset, accountable and confident in leading projects and teams.
