The Sr. Accountant is responsible for the organization’s accounting operations, financial reporting, and analysis. This role processes and reviews financial transactions, performs reconciliations, leads month‑end and year‑end close activities, supports financial reporting and audits. The Sr. Accountant plays a critical role in maintaining reliable financial records, strengthening accounting processes and internal controls, and delivering consistent, high‑quality financial reporting to leadership. The role serves as a key liaison across Operations, HR, and external partners to ensure that financial data is complete, accurate, and audit ready.
Key Responsibilities- Own day‑to‑day accounting operations, including accounts payable, expense management, and vendor payments, ensuring accurate and timely processing and resolution of discrepancies. Manage and maintain the general ledger in Quick Books; including preparation, review, and posting of journal entries; ensure accounts are properly reconciled and supported each period.
- Own and manage the monthly, quarterly, and year‑end close processes, ensuring financial records are complete, accurate, and closed on a consistent and timely schedule.
- Prepare and deliver financial statements and supporting schedules, including entity‑level reporting, balance sheet reconciliations, and variance analyses, ensuring consistency and comparability over time.
- Ensure financial reporting integrity, validating data flows, and reconciling information between accounting systems and operational systems (e.g., payroll, billing, and expense platforms).
- Act as the primary finance liaison with cross‑functional partners, including Operations and HR, to ensure accurate payroll, billing, and labor‑related financial reporting. Support and contribute to budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling activities as needed.
- Develop, document, and improve accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls, with a focus on accuracy, audit readiness, and scalable processes.
- Support internal and external audits by preparing documentation, schedules, and responding to auditor inquiries.
- Analyze complex accounting issues and provide recommendations to management.
- Participate in special projects and cross‑functional initiatives as needed.
- Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, regulations, and company policies.

- Maintain confidentiality as related to client information under HIPAA regulations regarding Protected Health Information. Any disclosures of confidential information made unlawfully outside the proper course of duty will be treated as a serious disciplinary offense.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Finance or related field
- Strong experience with general ledger functions and month‑end/ year‑end close process.
- Advanced understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Experience preparing and analyzing financial statements and complex reconciliations including intercompany accounting and reporting.
- Ability to independently manage accounting responsibilities, prioritize deadlines, and operate with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Experience partnering cross‑functionally (e.g., Operations, HR, Payroll) to validate and reconcile financial data.
- Proficiency in accounting systems and Microsoft Office; advanced Excel skills required.
- Must possess keen analytical, detail‑oriented and organizational skills, and accuracy with numbers.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Strong collaboration skills and teamwork are required.
