San Benito Foods, in Hollister, CA; and Toma-Tek in Firebaugh, CA.
We are looking for a Maintenance Manager I to manage maintenance personnel, ensuring high productivity while managing departmental resources within budget limitations and supporting efficient production operations. This position is an integral part of the plant leadership team and to supervise based on the business and operational needs of the plant. Additionally, the role provides technical support to maintenance personnel and plant management and ensures proper deployment of maintenance staff according to skill set, experience, training, and education.
This leader will be responsible for the plant's overall preventative maintenance program, including mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical, steam, water, vacuum, and compressed air systems at our Toma Tek plant in Firebaugh, CA.

Key Responsibilities- Generate or adapt equipment and/or technology to meet plant needs and apply scientific methodology to solve problems.
- Oversee the complete plant infrastructure, including supervising operation, installation, repair, and maintenance of equipment and systems.
- Develop and manage an annual plant operating budget that supports maintenance programs and process improvement or expansion projects. Monitor expenditures for materials, parts, and labor.
- Manage maintenance staff to ensure timely completion of all required maintenance and repairs, preparing the plant for production requirements.
- Recruit, train, coach, and evaluate maintenance staff performance.
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering or an equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant professional experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the essential functions of the role.
- Five (5) years of direct experience in maintenance supervision, including process analysis, troubleshooting, and the implementation of continuous improvement initiatives. Demonstrated ability to lead, develop, and manage large maintenance teams, ensuring operational efficiency, adherence to safety standards, and achievement of production and reliability objectives.
- Strong background in food manufacturing environments, with hands-on experience in preventive and predictive maintenance programs, equipment reliability, and root cause analysis methodologies. Specialized experience in tomato processing operations, including aseptic processing systems and formulated sauce production, with an emphasis on optimizing thermal efficiency, steam control, and mechanical reliability; preferred.
- Proven capability to implement maintenance and reliability best practices to reduce downtime and support high-volume, seasonal production operations in food processing facilities.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test, background check including employment and educational verification, credit screen, and to work extended schedule, weekends, and any shift needed during the fresh pack season, typically July to early October.
The salary range is $91,000 - $101,000, based on experience and qualifications.
