The Facilities Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing general maintenance, repairs, and upkeep of commercial and residential properties. This role focuses on day-to-day preventative maintenance, minor construction projects, and ensuring that all facilities remain safe, functional, and in good condition.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and basic repairs to building systems including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, drywall, painting, and hardware.
• Assist with or lead small construction and renovation projects such as office remodels, flooring, and drywall installations.
• Conduct regular property walkthroughs, maintain clean and safe environments, and manage landscaping, groundskeeping, and snow removal.
• Maintain accurate maintenance logs, tool inventory, and warranty/safety documentation.
• Respond to emergency repair needs and provide 24/7 on-call support for urgent facility issues (e.g., flooding, power outages, weather-related damage).

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years of experience in general maintenance, construction, or facilities management (residential or commercial).
• Working knowledge of HVAC systems, electrical, plumbing, and general building operations.
• Experience in minor construction or renovation projects.
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve maintenance issues independently.
• Comfortable using hand tools and maintaining equipment.

• Strong attention to detail, dependability, and a proactive mindset.
• Ability to prioritize preventative maintenance tasks and daily upkeep over reactive emergency fixes.
• Basic tool set and hands-on maintenance experience required.
• Familiarity with safety codes and willingness to adhere to building and compliance standards.
• On-call availability for emergencies and flexibility to address urgent needs as they arise.
