GENERAL SUMMARY (Describe the overall duties and responsibilities of the job):

  • Create and control in-process documentation to support plant production operations.
  • Maintain customer and/or internal change-point controls to ensure proper revision levels.
  • Support the company IATF Quality System through ongoing internal auditing and control.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Duties required for successful job performance):

  • Maintain Customer and Internal (ECR) Engineering Change-Request Control System to ensure all change-points are documented, tracked, implemented, and adhered to in a timely manner.
  • Support all IATF-16949 initiatives by assistance in the Creation and Maintenance of Quality policies and procedures, Serving as Lead IATF 16949 Internal Auditor;
    Maintaining Internal Audit schedule and supporting documentation;
    Conducting ongoing System/Product/Process Audits. –

  • Document Control Coordination - Maintain master list of all controlled documents and forms, including external manuals and forms. Monitors and maintains approvals for all internal documents, revisions, and revision dates. Maintains and updates to QIP (Quality Improvement Plan) data and all posted plant VOC (Voice of the Customer) boards. –

  • Provide additional backup support to Quality Engineers in preparation and maintenance of APQP/PSW documentation, Safe-Launch data gathering, Gage Calibration, etc. –

REQUIRED EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE (These are the traditional minimum, or required, bona-fide occupational qualifications and other requirements of most people in this job).

  • High school education with a minimum of 4 years’ experience in a manufacturing quality department, or college degree in a related field .
  • Certified Quality Auditor thru ASQ or equivalent, plus IATF 16949:2016/ISO
    9001:2015 knowledge.

REQUIRED

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

(Those needed to perform the essential functions of the job).

  • Working knowledge of manufacturing processes
  • Working knowledge of quality control systems and documentation
  • Working knowledge of statistical data collection and analysis tools (SPC, CpK, GD&T)
  • Effective analytical/problem solving skills including problem solving tools (8-D, 5P)
  • Effective interpersonal skills (written and verbal communication)
  • Effective organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to initiate and/or manage a variety of priorities and projects
  • Working knowledge of basic measuring instruments (calipers, gauges, etc.)
  • General MS-Office skills, including MS-Word; proficiency in Excel and Power Point

  • “Effectively monitor audit results” – If internal and/or external audits are not investigated and resolved, non-conformances will reach the customer thus resulting in loss of confidence and/or business with the customer as well as the potential of increased costs therefore affecting future business, profitability and the ability to conduct business.

  • This position reports to the Quality Manager.
  • This position does not have any direct reports

WORKING CONDITIONS (Describe the environment within which the work is performed).

  • Quality Systems Engineer will split their time between the production floor and office environment.
  • Overtime of varying levels may be required with this position.
  • PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

    • Able to travel within the manufacturing area of the plant.
    • Periodically may require standing/walking for extended periods of time.
