The Corporate Reliability Engineer (Electrical) is part of a centralized strategic team to ensure mechanical integrity and reliability of refining assets through a strong understanding of refinery equipment design/operation/repair, reliability engineering principles, and data analysis. This role will interface with the Asset Health Monitoring (AHM) group to develop and use tools to enable predictive reliability.
Responsibilities- Drive reduction of LCIP/LPO across the Refining system.
- Serve as the key point of contact for discipline-specific strategic reliability efforts.
- Collaborate with Asset Health Monitoring (AHM) organization, Equipment Specialists, and site teams to develop and implement failure prediction strategies for high-impact assets.
- Serve as primary functional expert to curate insights brought forward by the AHM team and collaborate with sites to drive resolution.
- Assist AHM team in development of new tools and identification of instrumentation/measurement needs.
- Collaborate with IT & AHM to ensure data accuracy, standardization, and integrity across all digital monitoring platforms and databases.
- Utilize traditional reliability tools such as FMEA, RCA, RBD, Weibull, Crow-AMSAA, etc., along with new methods/platforms to drive defect prediction and system failure threat identification.
- Provide technical expertise and troubleshooting assistance in resolving equipment design, operation, and maintenance problems within the discipline across the Refining system; engage internal and external experts as required.
- Collaborate with RRMI specialists and process technologists to address existing systemic reliability issues.
- Evaluate relevant emerging technologies, software, and AI-enabled tools; assist sites with selection and placement of instrumentation for critical asset monitoring.
- Support justification of site reliability projects and evaluate reliability risks for projects in development.
- Prepare detailed, data-driven reports on asset health, reliability performance, and predicted reliability threats.
- Support technical training and provide mentorship to facility engineers on systems, monitoring tools, and new practices.
- Influence and contribute to updates of standards and procedures based on industry and multi-site experience in collaboration with Equipment Specialist group.
- Conduct post-audits to evaluate effectiveness of major reliability initiatives.
- Provide technical expertise and support for capital project development and participate in relevant industry trade groups.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in the applicable discipline and/or Reliability Engineering
- 25% travel required
