Position Overview:
The Director of Millstream Career Center provides visionary leadership, strategic planning, and day-to-day management of Millstream. The Director is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing high-quality career-technical education (CTE) programs that prepare students for post-secondary education, industry credentials, apprenticeships, and the workforce. This position
requires strong collaboration with compact district leaders, business and industry partners, higher education institutions, staff, students, and the community.
Position Responsibilities:
* Provide overall vision, leadership, and administration of the Millstream Career Center.
* Develop, implement, and monitor career-technical programs that meet workforce demands and state standards.
* Hire, retain, supervise, and evaluate instructional and support staff.
* Foster a positive school culture focused on student success, safety, and career readiness.
* Build and maintain partnerships with local businesses, industries, and post-secondary institutions to expand student opportunities.
* Coordinate advisory committees for each career-technical program.
* Oversee program enrollment, scheduling, and student placement.
* Ensure compliance with Ohio Department of Education and Workforce (ODEW) regulations and federal/state reporting requirements.
* Manage and monitor the career center budget, grants, and other funding sources.
* Support the development and implementation of work-based learning opportunities,internships, and apprenticeships.
* Lead program evaluations and continuous improvement efforts.
* Collaborate with member schools, counselors, and administrators to promote and support career center programs.
* Ensure a safe, orderly, and inclusive learning environment by oversight of student discipline, attendance, and support services.
* Represent the career center at community, state and regional meetings.
* Perform other duties as assigned by the Superintendent or designee.
Qualifications:
* Master's degree in Educational Leadership, Career-Technical Education, or a related field preferred.
* Valid Ohio administrative license appropriate for the position.
* Minimum of five years of successful experience in career-technical education preferred.
* Demonstrated leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
* Experience with program development, budgeting, and staff supervision.
* Knowledge of Ohio CTE standards, accountability systems, and workforce trends.
Working Conditions:
* Primarily office, classrooms, labs and career center campus environment.
* Frequent interaction with students, staff, families, and community partners.
* Occasional evening or weekend events for community or school functions.
* Frequent use of a computer, phone, and standard office equipment.
* Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 20 pounds occasionally.
Evaluation:
Performance will be evaluation in accordance with the Ohio Principal Evaluation System (OPES) rubric.
