Position Summary
Youth For Christ of Northwest Ohio is seeking Campus Life Directors to cover Allen, Hancock, and Putnam Counties schools. The Campus Life Director is a position that requires spiritual and organizational leadership skills, the ability to work with and through other people, communication skills, a heart for reaching young people with the gospel of Jesus Christ, and the ability to minister to youth in evangelism and discipleship within the context of YFC methodology.
They also need to demonstrate commitment to Youth for Christ Statement of Faith, as outlined in the Personnel Policy.
Five Essentials
The Campus Life director role is built around Youth for Christ's Five Essentials. These are the core values of this ministry. Although these essentials are key to the success of every staff person and their ministry site, it is expected that all staff have an abiding daily relationship with Jesus Christ.
Widespread Prayer:
We deliberately engage lots of Christians to intercede on behalf of the ministry site
Our hope is that every ministry staff would have an active prayer life that creates a dependence on God for wisdom, boldness, and a fruitful ministry site.
- Build a team of prayer warriors
- Send out a prayer note/email at least monthly.
- Create an environment where prayer is understood as an essential building block to fruitful, and sustainable ministry.
- Identify a smaller group of intercessory prayer warriors that you can text in the moment
We accurately handle Biblical truth, regularly coaching kids to apply it in their lives
The Word of God must be seen as the Authority for truth and a guide for ministry.
- A discipline of reading and meditating on God's Word
- A good understanding of the Bible and the orthodox theological truth as stated in the YFC statement of faith.
- It is expected that all leaders would align their lives to the authority of God's Word and show a faithfulness to living out His truth daily.
We intentionally work together with local churches, agencies, and other partners to provide sustainable youth and family ministry.
- Weekly appointments with like minded partners is expected
- 1 community appointment per month (youth worker, pastor, community leader, teacher, coach, United Way, etc.
- 2 donor or potential donor appointments per month (personal supporter, parent, business owner, current or potential donor, service clubs, etc.)
- Report appointments in supervision
- Recruit ministry leaders from a variety of churches
- Oversee a Community Support Team (6 meetings a year)
We strategically develop leaders to reach young people from every people group
- Recruit, screen, train and empower a team of ministry leaders
- Coaching and training of ministry leader team
- Weekly - prayer, encouragement, prep, communication, practical training
- Quarterly - planning, visioneering
- Yearly - training, re-agreement of

- Relational Ministry Actions:
- Club (large group gathering: games, lesson, discussion)
- Contacting (meet students where they are, i.e. sports, concerts)
- Small Groups (3-10 students gather for discovery or spiritual conversations)
- Building Times (large group shared experiences)
- Appointments (one-on-one intentional public meetings with students)
- Core (student leader discipleship and evangelism training)
Ministry Team Development (60%)
- Recruit, train, and maintain volunteer ministry leader team in accordance with the processes found in the Knowledge Base
- Create a strong connection between local churches and the ministry site
- Provide training materials and ministry site standards for ministry leaders
- Develop healthy 3 Story teams for each ministry site
- Establish necessary support and guidelines to ensure healthy and growing ministry at all sites
- Be an advocate in the community for young people
- Report progress and ministry updates to YFC
- Responsible for managing, facilitating and serving in the Relational Ministry Actions (RMAs)
- Direct the 3 Story Team at their site in accomplishing the standards outlined in the RMAs found in the Knowledge Base
- Establish and develop programming materials
- Train and evaluate ministry site leaders in the implementation of curriculum materials
