Overview

Urgent case coverage needed in Filmore for a patient who is GTube dependent. $30-32/HR - Case specific. Sat: 11:30a-9p or Sat: 9p-7a.

Responsibilities
  • Provide and document skilled nursing care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse in accordance with the care plan and physician orders.
  • Observe and assess patient condition, report changes to the supervisor or physician as appropriate.
  • Document all activities, assessments, nursing actions, responses, and coordination of care in a timely manner.
  • Participate in, implement and update the nursing care plan.
  • Take appropriate nursing action based on assessment to achieve expected outcomes.
  • Identify changes in patient needs and implement care to prevent or reduce risk.
  • Comply with Aveanna policies, state and federal regulations, accrediting bodies, and the Nurse Practice Act.
  • Provide care utilizing infection control measures per OSHA standards.
  • Educate the patient and family regarding disease process, self-care techniques, and prevention strategies.
  • Maintain knowledge of nursing competencies through continuing education and evaluations.
Qualifications
  • Must have and maintain an active, unencumbered CA LVN license
  • Current CPR certification (with hands-on component)
  • TB skin test - 2 step (current within last 12 months)
  • One year prior hands-on nursing experience
  • Must have reliable transportation
  • Proficiency in clinical assessments, documentation, and compliance with nursing care and policies
  • Continuing Education as required by state
  • Additional State Specific Requirements (see below)
Additional State Specific Requirements
  • South Carolina – One year pediatrics experience
  • California – One year experience required working under current nursing license
  • Louisiana – One year experience required working as a licensed nurse
  • Continuing Education as required by state
Other Qualifications
  • Six months of recent experience as a Licensed Nurse in a clinical care setting (preferred)
  • Home health experience (preferred)
  • Attention to detail
  • Time management
  • Effective problem-solving and conflict resolution
  • Good organization and communication skills
Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to speak, write, read and understand English
  • Must be able to travel
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds
  • Must be able to reposition patients and move equipment without assistance
  • Prolonged walking, standing, bending, kneeling, reaching, twisting
  • Must be able to sit and climb stairs
  • Must have visual and hearing acuity
  • Must have strong sense of smell and touch
  • Must be able to appropriately respond physically and mentally to emergency situations in the home or during transport
Environment
  • Must be able to function in a wide variety of environments which may involve exposure to allergens and other various conditions
  • Possible exposure to blood, bodily fluids and infectious diseases
