Position Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for District Charge Nurse to join a community nursing team in the North East Fife Locality supporting the delivery of high-quality nursing care to the citizens of Fife.
ResponsibilitiesThe District Charge Nurse will be responsible for the management of a caseload of community patients, leading and managing a team of qualified nursing staff and health support workers. The caseload population is derived from the GP practice to which the team is aligned.
You will provide an accessible, appropriate, high quality, culturally sensitive and effective nursing service in the community, working in partnership with service users, care providers and other agencies. You will function as an independent autonomous practitioner, leading and enabling the district nursing team to provide a quality nursing service.
You will be the clinical expert accountable for case management and nursing activity within the caseload, and lead, manage and support the district nursing team.
You should possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills and be committed to the development of an effective flexible person-centred nursing team through ongoing professional development.
QualificationsConsiderable community nursing experience is essential for this post. Candidates must have completed further study or demonstrate a willingness to complete further study towards a specialist practitioner community nursing qualification.
