The HR Generalist (HRG) will provide support across all Commencement Bay Cannabis retail locations.

This position will work in close collaboration with the Director of Human Resources and the HR Business Partner to deliver services across all areas of Human Resources, including but not limited to, personnel and file management, HR reporting and data analytics, training, talent acquisition, employee engagement, employee relations, and other assigned areas of focus.

The HRG will serve as a resource to both leadership and employees, supporting organizational needs and contributing to the development of a high-performance culture committed to customer service excellence.

Responsibilities
  • Provide day-to-day HR support to all retail locations, ensuring compliance with company policies, procedures, and applicable employment laws.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential employee records, personnel files, and HR documentation.
  • Input and upkeep new hires and existing employees within the company HRIS system, to ensure accuracy of records related to personal data, job changes, performance, benefits, and other employment-related details.
  • Support the full-cycle recruitment process, including job postings, screening, interviewing, and onboarding of new employees.
  • Assist with employee relations matters by responding to inquiries, supporting conflict resolution, and escalating issues as appropriate.
  • Partner with leaders to promote employee engagement, recognition, and retention initiatives.
  • Lead Ignite Committee and coordinate events as needed.
  • Coordinate and track mandatory training, performance reviews, and development programs.
  • Administer HR processes related to benefits, leaves of absence (FMLA), and other employee programs as assigned.
  • Contribute to HR projects, policy development, and process improvements as assigned.
  • Track and report HR metrics (e.g., turnover, retention, headcount, recruitment activity) to support data-driven decision making.
  • Support disciplinary action and performance management processes in partnership with HR leadership.
  • Conduct new hire orientations and ensure smooth integration of employees into the organization.
  • Maintain uniform inventory for retail stores, which includes ordering uniform shirts and jackets; create s and issue key card access to employees.
  • Coordinate offboarding activities, including exit interviews and final paperwork.
  • Serve as a resource to employees and managers, providing guidance on HR-related questions and best practices.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field required.
  • At least 2 years of experience in a formal HR role such as HR Assistant/Coordinator/Recruiter or related role required.
  • HR experience in a retail setting is a plus.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) required; experience with HRIS systems required.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills and the ability to exercise sound judgment.
  • Flexibility to travel between retail locations as needed.
Working Conditions

Work will be performed in a normal office setting, with regular travel to retail store locations to meet with retail staff. Noise levels in the office range from quiet to moderate, while work in the field may range from quiet to loud, but mostly moderate.

Certificates and Licenses

This position is classified as a sensitive Tribal position. Therefore, applicants must submit to and clear a preemployment criminal background check.

Physical Requirements
  • Prolonged periods of sitting while performing office tasks, like typing, operating computer and phone, etc.
  • Ability to travel to retail store locations for meetings.
