Located on a 224-acre site in Fernley, Nevada, WNVT is strategically positioned just 30 minutes east of Reno along U.S. Highway 50, with excellent access to the Interstate 80 interchange spanning Lyon and Churchill counties. The facility is ideally situated near key mining, agricultural, manufacturing, and distribution hubs, as well as rapidly growing population centers throughout Northern Nevada.

Western Nevada Transload is seeking a highly organized and assertive Gate Clerk to manage truck traffic and gate operations at our busy rail transload facility in Fernley, NV.
This position serves as the first point of contact for drivers and plays a critical role in maintaining safe, efficient, and accurate yard operations.
Key Responsibilities- Verify driver paperwork for inbound and outbound trucks
- Confirm booking information for export containers
- Verify required paperwork prior to yard entry
- Assign dock/lane locations and manage truck flow during busy periods
- Track and enter gate events in real-time
- Maintain accurate railcar inventory and log car numbers
- Coordinate with yard crew and supervisors via radio
- Maintain accurate gate and inventory logs for compliance and reporting
- Assist with administrative and office support tasks as needed
- Escalate operational issues to supervisors when required
Skills & Qualifications
- Strong computer skills and ability to navigate multiple systems
- Excel knowledge required
- Ability to learn inventory software and basic EDI systems
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail
- Confident and professional in interacting with drivers
- Able to work in a fast-paced industrial environment
- Reliable and punctual (early morning start time)
- Previous experience in logistics, transportation, warehousing, or similar operations preferred
- Rail or intermodal experience is a plus but not required.
- Monday – Friday, 5:30 AM – 3:00 PM.
- Overtime and Weekends as needed.
- Standing for extended periods
- Frequent movement in and out of the office
- Working near gate area in varying weather conditions
- Starting rate: $23.00 per hour
