Accountant - Plant

About The Role

Client is seeking an experienced Accountant to support daily accounting operations in a manufacturing environment. This role plays a key part in month-end close, inventory and fixed asset accounting, tax reporting, and cross-functional coordination with operations and supply chain teams.

• Perform balance sheet and bank account reconciliations
• Prepare daily sales and production reports
• Assist with month-end close, financial statements, variance and expense reporting
• Support Procure-to-Pay activities and coordinate with Purchasing, Operations, Warehouse, and AP
• Manage inventory accounting (spare parts $12-13MM, WIP, finished goods, purchased cement)
• Track and manage 80+ rail car fleet movements and payments
• Maintain fixed asset records and depreciation schedules
• Prepare and track sales, property, commerce, and gross proceeds of mines taxes
• Prepare and post journal entries
• Serve as backup for Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Payroll
• Assist with quarterly and annual audits
• Support process improvements and integration related to the Stockton acquisition
• File required monthly, quarterly, and annual government reports

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
• 3+ years of accounting experience in a manufacturing environment
• Strong experience with general ledger, reconciliations, tax filings, and budgeting
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word

• Self-starter with the ability to work independently
