SEN Tutor: Personalised Learning & Support

Prospero Teaching are excited to share that multiple tutoring opportunities have become available in Ferndown for passionate and experienced education professionals. These roles involve working with young people who may have additional needs, including SEN, SEMH, trauma‑related challenges, or who may be at risk of permanent exclusion (PEX). Your experience and empathy can make a real difference.

We’re looking for strong Tutors who have:

• At least 1 year of experience in UK schools in roles such as:
  Tutor, Teacher Cover, Supervisor, Teaching Assistant, ELSA, 1:1 Support, or other relevant education roles
• Experience working with learners with additional needs
• A commitment to inclusive education and personalised learning

• Deliver personalised sessions tailored to the learner’s needs.
• Provide consistent and supportive mentoring to help build emotional resilience and self-confidence.
• Develop and implement a Personalised Communication Plan using preferred signals (hand gestures, cards, emojis, words).
• Practice communication strategies in calm situations to build familiarity and trust.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 1 year of experience working with young people; experience of working with learners with SEN

To be eligible for this role through Prospero Teaching, you must:

• Hold right to work in the UK
• Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
• Provide references upon request
• Possess up to date Safeguarding Training (or a willingness to undertake this)
