This opportunity is for a Teacher of the Visually Impaired to support a 9th‑grade student in a high school setting. The position is contract‑based, running from ASAP through June 9, 2026, with a flexible schedule of either 1‑2 days per week or 30 minutes daily, 5 days a week. The role is located in Ferndale, WA.
Key Responsibilities- Provide specialized instruction tailored to a student with visual impairments.
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) in collaboration with school staff.
- Coordinate with classroom teachers to ensure appropriate accommodations and modifications.
- Use adaptive technology and tools to facilitate student learning and independence.
- Monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly.
- Certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired or equivalent credentials.
- Experience working with visually impaired students in a school environment.
- Strong knowledge of assistive technologies and instructional strategies for visual impairments.
- Effective communication skills for collaborating with students, parents, and educators.
- Ability to adapt teaching approaches to meet individual student needs.
